Standing on the edge
Standing, watching, its hard to see if there is order in seeming chaos.
Surely people talking all night in Westminster, giving doctors all our money so that they can give it to consortiums,
yet taking it away from young people who want to grow as people and be educated more, but they are a bit financially poor.

Are we creating a circle where only a few reach the top?
Really interested to hear what the new government has handed down to Southend later today, it will I’m sure give me an idea of how they value local people and communities.

And very sadly many are about to fall off that edge. The conservative-led government knows full well investing in people now would in the long term produce a prosperous economy and better standard of living for all but being a tory is not about equality .They want a quick fix for themselves and their business associates which will only prosper those who have reached the top already. The Lib-Dems,a bit like the Titanic have collided with an impenetrable iceberg and it won’t be until they feel the real discomfort of being submerged in such icy waters that they will wish they hadn’t got on the boat! What really concerns me is the NHS: It is privatisation through the back door and the thousands of people left drowning will be beyond rescue. soon enough health insurance will be required and if you haven’t the means to pay-you won’t get the treatment.
The old Thatcher days of divide and rule have returned with such speed it is with disbelief that we’re listening to the tories saying they are doing something new. Far from giving power back to the people they are ensuring that less people become educated, more become unemployed and those that are ill or struggling to survive financially with the huge hike in the cost of day to day living can hopefully be helped by a charity or go without-most will go without.
I’m so tired of hearing every answer of Cameron’s that they’ve inherited this mess from Labour-the mess is from the greed of the bankers. In the 80′s when north sea oil was flowing-oil and gas produced £35 million every single day for 17 years. Norway set up a sovereign fund which is now the 3rd largest in the world. If the tories had done the same when they were in power then,we would now have a fund of about £450 billion, adding all the proceeds from everything they privatised-it would make for the world’s biggest sovereign fund. what did they do with it all? lined their pockets and created one of the largest and most dishonest financial institutions in the world. the recession then was deliberately engineered. recovery from this one is being deliberately stalled. remember this when Labour is accused of not saving money!
As for local money-we’ve lost £15 million from government I heard-this is a tremendous amount for southend but still the tory led council has money to pay for hideous lights and dead palm trees, still has money for the forthcoming refurbishment at the civic centre-shame that 178 people will be added to the unemployment surge of 69,000 in the last 3 months and our children will have no refurbishments at their schools let alone new schools-NO CHOICE?-WHO DO THEY THINK THEY’RE KIDDING?!!
ok,so I may be a bit too angry with the conservatives to write anything with any kind of moderation but was at least pleased to watch BBC Four’s Justice programme last night on Fairness and the Big Society. 75% of the audience voted that they thought Cameron’s Big Society was just a political slogan with no substance. loud applause was given to one woman who said community projects had been going for years and Cameron was about to pull the rug from under all that hard work. It’s just one small example but reflects well the public’s view. Roll on May-at least locally -hopefully our voices will be heard in Southend.
